Saturday 11th July 2026 – Offa’s Dyke, Knighton

Saturday 11th July 2026 – Offa’s Dyke, Knighton. We will meet at 2.00pm at the Offa’s Dyke Visitors Centre carpark on West Street, Knighton, Powys, LD7 1EN. We will first walk around the indoor display that provides a history of the dyke and how it was constructed. Guides from the Centre will be on hand to provide further background information and to answer questions. After this we will take a look at the small section of the Dyke immediately behind the centre. There is no cost to enter the visitor centre, but donations would be welcomed! After this, for those interested, we will drive to an extensive section of the Dyke close to the B4355 for a short walk along it accompanied by Prof Keith Ray who will provide us with some fascinating insights to the history and archaeology of the Dyke. (Here is the Google maps link for the carpark on the B4355 : https://maps.app.goo.gl/vhsmMQEZoCd8AcpW6, What3Words: relate.rivals.mermaids).
