Saturday 9th May 2026 – Medieval Clun and Museum tour.

Saturday 9th May 2026 – Medieval Clun and Museum tour. Meet at the highest part of the castle at 2pm. Nigel Baker will lead the group around the castle and provide some fascinating insight into its construction and history. He will then walk the group into town, pointing out the borough defences and the borough’s original layout. The walk will conclude at the town museum for a look at its local history collection. There is no cost to enter the museum, but donations would be welcomed! (As the climb up the castle is quite steep, please could those who might not be able to manage it wait by the bowling green at the base of the castle and Nigel will meet you there once the group descends.) Please note: Do NOT park at the castle carpark – this is very small and intended just for castle visitors. Please park at the larger free carpark north of the town at the Memorial Hall and walk to castle (it is not far
and an easy walk). Here is the Google maps link to the Memorial Hall carpark: https://maps.app.goo.gl/MvR4BCaJ7N Meet at 2.00pm at the highest part of Clun Castle, Newport Street, Clun, SY7 8JT
